On Friday, March 28, 2014, St. Vitus 7th and 8th grade students under the direction of their Science teacher and sponsor, Marguerite Wills, will present their science experiments at the Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair's (PRSEF) 75th year of open competition of research projects in the fields of science, mathematics and engineering at Heinz Field. This competition is open to all students in grades 6-12 from 23 counties in Western Pennsylvania, three counties in West Virginia and Garrett County in Maryland. This is the second competition for our science students this year. At the end of February, the students competed in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Region 9 Competition at Slippery Rock University. The five 1st place winners from that event will compete in May at the State level. Science Rocks at SVS!
We are so proud of our Archery team's performance at their first state competition! Under the sponsorship of coaches Marguerite and Terry Wills, most of the 4th - 8th grade student archers achieved their personal best scores in open competition. Their families joined them on the exciting trip to Penn State. Check out our extracurricular link to see a photo album.

St. Vitus School was pleased to serve almost 600 fish dinners on Wednesday. We lost an electric fryer but our friends waited patiently while we continued with one. Thank you for sharing this first meal of Lent with us. We wish to thank our families, staff, and friends who came to help. We have you in our hearts.
Cathy Ryan is the principal of St. Vitus School.
